New MemberMangal Pandey was the first martyr in the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857 and he is still honored as the person who initiated the outbreak. He was born in Faizabad and was a sepoy (internationally known as private) in the 34th Bengal Native Infantry. He refused to use the cartridge of the infamous Enfield Rifle and shot a higher ranked British Officer. His actions motivated his fellow soldiers to take arms against the British Officials. Mangal Pandey is a prominent part of modern Indian history and the Indian Government had issued a postage stamp in 1984 to honor his sacrifice.

New Memberमंगल पांडेय 1857 के सिपाही विद्रोह में पहले शहीद हुए थे और वह आज भी प्रकोप की शुरुआत करने वाले व्यक्ति के रूप में सम्मानित हैं। उनका जन्म फैजाबाद में हुआ था और 34 वें बंगाल नेटिव इन्फैंट्री में एक सिपाही (अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर निजी के रूप में जाना जाता था) था । उन्होंने कुख्यात एनफील्ड राइफल के कारतूस का इस्तेमाल करने से इनकार कर दिया और एक उच्च रैंक वाले ब्रिटिश अधिकारी को गोली मार दी ।
